Moving a
Subject that is Placed in the Wrong Location |
|
Sometimes when you enter an address, the subject location
is not placed in the proper location. Unfortunately, geocoding
(finding the latitude and longitude of an address) is not
perfect. On occasion an incorrect placement will happen,
regardless of which geocoder is used. However, if you know
where the subject should be located, FloodInsights has a
solution for this. We call this "Manual Placement" or
"Birdseye Geocoding."
In order to move the subject to the correct location you
will need to do the following. First, click on the manual
placement radio button, which can be found above the GIS map.
Next, left click on the GIS map or aerial photo where you want
to relocate the subject (house) to. All you need to do is
click once! Within a few seconds the map will redraw itself.
Not only will the subject move on the map, but a new flood
report will be generated for the new location as well.
Please note: When using the manual placement feature,
zooming in will give you a more accurate manual placement. If
you need to cover a large area, zooming out will allow you to
move the subject a greater distance. To see how this feature
works first hand, register for one of our Online training
sessions listed below. |
